South Africa is seeing power from the 110-MW Perdekraal East Wind Farm transferred to its electrical distribution network. has announced to have started electrical distribution network on the $205 million Perdekraal East Wind Farm.
The 110 MW wind farm project is made up of 48 wind turbines. Spanning 3 055 ha, the location was chosen because of its excellent wind resource and its proximity to national roads for wind turbine transportation.
While not fully complete at this time the project will be supplying the full 110 MW of power to the national grid by late-2020.
The project is expected to have a major impact not only on the national grid but also on the economies of surrounding communities in the Western Cape’s Witzenberg local municipality.
Independent utility-scale wind and solar power plant developer Mainstream Asset Management South Africa will be responsible for managing its operation.
