African Biofuel Leaders to Meet in SA
Sunday, February 7, 2010  Printer Friendly Email this article

The African Bioenergy Convention, to be held in Stellenbosch, South Africa from March 17-19, will host biofuel leaders from around the continent to discuss a sustainable future for biofuels in Africa.

The gathering will be the second in a series of five conventions held around the world as part of the Global Sustainable Bioenergy Project (GSB) – a worldwide initiative that aims to provide appropriate guidelines, strategy, and policies on the feasibility of large scale bioenergy production.

“The GSP wants to establish once and for all whether large-scale production of bioenergy is possible and, at the same time, can also benefit both humanity and the environment,” says one of the African convention organisers, Prof. Emile van Zyl of Stellenbosch University.
